eBay Announces Numerous Changes for Fall 2008

in: eBay

eBay announced some significant changes for buyers and sellers last week, ranging from reduced fees for fixed price listings to minimum DSRs (Detailed Seller Ratings) and even shifting to exclusively using electronic payment methods, (with a few exceptions).

It’s too soon to tell how these changes are going to effect buyers and sellers on eBay, but the feedback that I’m hearing from legitimate sellers it positive.  The true test will be looking at the results at the end of the holiday buying season, which starts in just a few days - believe it or not.

You can read all about eBay’s announced changes at Auction Bytes.

PayPal To Report Your Sales to the Government

If you receive more than $20,000 in PayPal payments per year AND receive more than 200 payments per year, PayPal is now required by law to report those earnings to the U.S. Government.  According to a post on the PayPal blog, this law effects a small percentage of PayPal customers.  Well, guess what, folks.  I’m one of those, and you could be too.  Read the whole story on the PayPal blog.
